IJGB's BE LIKE...

LIFE IN LAGOS : SISI WEEKLY #25!

You don't need me to tell you that I'm excited today! From the big thumbnail you can see that BOBO is BACK!!!  These past 5 months have been very challenging without him around and if you've been following the vlog you know all about my struggle! Single moms all over the world I carry yansh for una, the Lord is your strength!

Still experience a bit of fuel scarcity and I had to deal with a sick baby. If no one has told you before, let me tell you this: if your baby is ill, so are you! If he's on admission, you will be too! I had a challenging week. I crammed two weeks of activities into this vlog so that my Christmas will be very current. Hope you enjoy this!

MY SALON PET PEEVES!

Prior to making this hair I have on (crochet braids) I haven't visited the salon in over 6 months and I could not be bothered! I was jejely packing my hair everyday because just the thought of going just makes me tired. At my last visit sha I started remembering all the things I didn't like about going to a salon and I bet some of you will gree or not gree.

1. SMELLING AARMPIT! My fadaaaaa! You know when your hair is about to get washed and the hairdresser puts her arm over your face while you are left to stare at her armpits or die of B.O (Not all salons). It should be compulsory for all hair dressers to wear sleeved dresses AND use antiperspirant. Mi o le wa ku.

2. EXPECTATIONS VS REALITY: You go to your salon, show them a photo of the hairstyle you want, hairdresser zooms into the picture, zooms out, then nods that she sabi the tin. You say ok and siddon. When she's done you are upset because what you showed her is different, what she did is different. Oh, she will be smelling sheepishly while the co-hairdressers will be telling you how this style fit you die!

REVIEW : OKELE RESTAURANT MAGODO (PHASE II)

If you've been driving around the Magodo Phase II area you may have noticed this tiny restaurant beside the car wash just before you get to Magodo gate...you haven't noticed? I noticed a long time ago and I did because I saw a photo of my food on their building outside. So I went in and asked why they didn't shoot their own photos (after all you make food) but the manager told me something about it not being her fault, that it was the printer. Hmmmm....there we go again abi? No respect for copyright...just pluck my photo from my blog and use.

LIFE IN LAGOS : SISI WEEKLY #24!

Hello my lovelies!!! How body? We are at Ep 24 of Sisi Weekly!!!! I'm excited about this week's episode because I got to travel to Abuja! This was Tito's first trip by the way. Noborrry told me that travelling with babies is so much work!!! Nigerian airports don't make it easier; it was so hot, no AC, just fan in one random corner, and then flight delays so I spent way much time there than we had to but thank God for safe journey.

What I went to do in Abuja? I was a speaker at the Female Business Sessions, if you follow me on instagram you would have seen pictures from this event. Oya click HERE to follow me now sharply. Levels don change....I feel so honoured to be able to do what I do, so blessed really. This is my 4th speaking event...and it just gets better and better!

Shout out to Madam Eya of Wives Connection and Matse of Matsecooks for being such wonderful ladies!!! I met them LIVE and DIRECT! Next time I come to Abuja I'll spend more time and enjoy myself.

Soft, mushy banga rice, coconut rice that you can suck from the nylon, starch and Owho soup, ukodo...I can go on. I'm not your everyday Yoruba girl.

Today I will be showing you how I prepare Banga rice wey make too much sense. I didn't do it alone, my friend Yotan and her sister Amaju and momsy all join. We made a big party pot of Banga rice and it was so delicious.

Get it right, this proposal is not about YOU! Don't say you don't like public display of affection -nobody ever died from PDA. Remember, it's not about YOU! LIFE IN LAGOS: SISI WEEKLY #23!

First of all, I want to say thank you for your continuous support of my vlogs! Looking forward to more!

In this weeks vlog you'll get to see how I'm coping with fuel scarcity, na was oh. This country dey punish us well well. You dinnor give us light, we half buy gen, next you dinnor give us petrol for the gen. Which way Nigeria? Why is our government like this? So as big as we are we cannot have even if it's 12 hours of uninterrupted power supply???

MY FIRST CROCHET HAIRSTYLE !

sisiyemmie crochet hair
I have spent hours on Instagram looking up hashtags like #crochetbraids #crochetlove #crochet just to see all the beautiful hairstyles you can get using the crochet technique. I decided that this is meant to be my next hairstyle and from the look of things, my go-to hairstyle because it looks easy (some people actually do it themselves), if I tired I could do it myself but you know this babygirl ain't got time for that!

6 THINGS SUGABELLY'S STORY TELL US ABOUT RAPE IN NIGERIA

Sugabelly's work
If you've not read Sugabelly's story of Rape then you've not been on twitter, Nigerian twitter to be exact. Sugabelly is a talented artist (illustrator) and blogger at sugabellyrocks.com you should check out her drawings :)

Although she has mentioned how Audu Abubakar's son's raped her in the past. Lately because of his passing the story was resurrected and it's a good thing it was brought up because it brings to light the many bad things happening in this Nigeria. Shout out to Sugabelly for sharing her story, it takes a lot of courage. Read it HERE

1. VICTIM BLAMING: No matter the situation, the first thing people do is victim blaming which is the number one reason victims don't share their stories. It starts with " What were you doing there?", "why were you wearing a miniskirt", why didn't you have common sense to leave"...comments like that blame the victim and justifies the abuser.

HOW I TIE A TURBAN/HEAD WRAP : VERY EASY !

IS THIS ABUSE OR NOT? MAID FANNING MADAM IN SALON

So I saw a video on Facebook yesterday so I shared it on my timeline...that was before it went viral. People have different opinions about what was going on in the video: in this clip a house help (we think she is) is fanning her madam in a salon, madam looks like she's pregnant and the girl was fanning away. Some say househelp didn't look like she was in pain or suffering. The video is for  a few seconds but the lady who recorded it says the girl fanned this woman for over 2 hours.

Question to you:

Is this Child Abuse? aka modern day slavery ?

OR

Is this woman just being attacked for no reason?

I witnessed this modern day slavery today at a  nail salon. This woman who arrived in a jeep came with this girl who...

RESTAURANT REVIEW : DELTA POT LEKKI!

It's been a long time since I did a restaurant review because I couldn't be bothered to go out much; now going out requires double duty. I have to get myself ready, then get my Tito ready which includes bathing him, breastfeeding him (he rejects the bottle), fighting to comb his hair, packing his diaper bag and praying he isn't crying in his car seat while I'm driving, because if he is...we have to park noni and have some bobbie-time...oh yes! So it's long trying to go out.

13 HILARIOUS TWEETS FROM #HELLOCHALLENGE

I love twitter because of the people in it! It is pure entertainment on days where people are not busy tweet fighting.... I love to follow witty, fun personalities and also check fun Hashtags...for example this #HelloChallenge . If you've not heard Adele's song HELLO then you've been living under a rock....Hello from the outside! LOL. With such a hit song like that, there have been many covers and it's difficult to choose a favourite...

Today we're not talking about the covers but the #HelloChallenge which is basically you trying to chat up an ex or anyone really using the lyrics t Adele's Hello. See hilarious tweets of people who tried. I can't even think of someone I can prank like this LOL . I'm on twitter as Sisi_Yemmie

LIFE IN LAGOS : SISI WEEKLY #20

Wow! I cannot believe we're at episode 20 of Sisi Weekly! What started just which day? I'm happy I've been able to share a part of my life, and my ideals with you all. So I decided to switch things up a bit. In today's episode I responded 2 emails from for una, so watch to see if it was your email I responded to. I figured instead of making separate videos for advice  should do it in a vlog, what do you think? If you want the videos separately let me know.

I'm sharing my Unripe Plantain Porridge Recipe with you today and you will love it if you try it! I've never really liked unripe plantain but when I make it like this or as Plantain Chips (Kpekere) it's irresistible! SHOULD YOU MOVE BACK TO LAGOS? WATCH THE DOCUMENTARY

A lot of my readers keep asking me "Sisi how is life in Lagos, should I move back"? Hmmmm .... I cannot tell you yes or no, I can only show you how life is for me in Lagos by showing you my vlog HERE (make sure you SUBSCRIBE) and sharing documentaries about moving back to Nigeria with you.

HAPPY HOUSEWIFE DAY MY FELLOW HOUSEWIVES!

I bet some of you didn't know today was Housewife Day? Imagine that! I almost didn't want to say anything about it but that's typical housewife behaviour...we don't like to take credit for anything *batts lashes* I was also very pre-occupied that I almost forgot. Housewives are busy running the home, thinking about everyone else's welfare before thinking about theirs.

There was a time I really wanted to be a housewife and I'm so glad I am finally one-Part time! LOL. I get to regulate my schedule, stay home with my baby, work at my convenience (from home) and not bother about what I'm wearing to the office tomorrow.
