Leading Lender, First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has taken another major leap in the retail and mobile banking segments of the Nigerian financial services industry. It has launched a new product called FCMB Easy Account. Described as banking made accessible to all, a significant and value-added feature of this product is that the telephone numbers of the customers, without the first digit, serve as their respective account numbers. The Account is an enhanced version of its *329# USSD platform.

PEPSODENT, NDA CELEBRATE WORLD ORAL HEALTH DAY WITH DENTAL OUTREACHES, "CALL A DOCTOR"

Oral care advocate, Pepsodent and the Nigerian Dental Association (NDA) have initiated dental outreaches in Lagos schools and markets and a dedicated, toll-free oral care support system- Call A Dentist to commemorate 2019 World Oral Health Day. 

The programmes are key components of the Pepsodent oral care mission in partnership with NDA, World Dental Federation, FDI, federal and state ministries of health.

Reports show that women make up 49% of Nigeria’s adult population. However, only about 42% of them have access to formal financial services. Moreover, 42.7% of Nigerian women are business owners out of which only an estimated 2% have access to capital and loans to grow their businesses. It is also reported that around 7 million businesses will be set-up by Nigerian women in the year 2021 with the potential to create 8.9 million jobs and unlock billions in revenue for the country.

WOHD 2019 : PEPSODENT ADVOCATES FOR INCREASED AWARENESS ON ORAL HYGIENE


Oral care brand and advocate, Pepsodent has called for increased awareness on oral hygiene to combat poor oral health in Nigeria. 

While making the call at a press briefing to commemorate this year’s World Oral Health Day, the Category Manager, Oral Care, Unilever Nigeria, Salu Toluwaleke, said that poor oral health not only damages teeth especially children's teeth, it can also lower their self-esteem and harm their performance at school. “According to a global study* commissioned by Unilever Oral Care. The report, published ahead of World Oral Health Day on March 20, shows that the quality of a child’s oral care can have an impact beyond obvious medical problems like bad breath and dental pain; it can also limit their potential and negatively impact their self-esteem.”  She said.  
Joining the call to raise awareness for oral hygiene in Nigeria, the President, Nigerian Dental Association (NDA), Dr Evelyn Eshikena said that the time has come, for all stakeholders in the private and public sectors to address the challenge of poor oral health among Nigerians through partnership.
