NO TOMATOES? MAKE JAMBALAYA JOLLOF RICE!

I know tomatoes "haff cost" but don't worry, you don't need fresh tomatoes for this, with tinned tomatoe paste /tomato sauce in a can you are good go! Initially I was making Jollof but added a bunch of other ingredients and ended up with a spoon-licking jambalaya rice. So can we call it Jambalaya Jollof? T's not 100% Jambalaya and it's not 100% Jollof. LOL. Name this dish! Back to how delicious this was...Bobo said "don't serve plenty for me oh"(fitfam tinz)...as a good wife I said "Ok" and gave him a small portion. This guy went back two times to that pot! I no blame am, na the rice wey sweet I blame. Even Tito balance well to wack the rice. So what are the ingredients?

I'll make it easy for you: it's actually Ogbono, with some okra, some onion, crawfish, shaki...what else can you see? Haneefah shared this photo of her work on twitter  for the TechMeetsArt competition and it has gone viral because...we've never seen Nigerian food like this before! I want this framed and hung on my kitchen wall. She even has one of Fela, Jollof and Zobo!

MY QUICK VISIT TO THE ARTS AND CRAFTS VILLAGE, ABUJA

On my last trip to Abuja I had a few minutes to kill so I took off to the Arts and Crafts Village, it was just a few minutes drive from the hotel we were staying. I like to support Nigerian/African art whenever I can afford to (you know these things are not cheap sometimes lol). So I bought a few things, burnt some calories under the sun and took some photos! To see the video of our trip to Abuja CLICK HERE

TITO IS ONE - CAKE SMASH PHOTOS!

The best thing that ever happened to me, and on Mothers Day, was my son! I shed tears a few nights ago after my Tito got his first haircut-it was so emotional for me...babies are so cute and you sometimes wish they could remain babies. My baby is more of a toddler now and this new hair cut is making him look like a boyoyo, I have unending gratitude to God for placing this wonderful boy in my life! I asked and begged God for this boy (since I was a teenager tbh) and God granted me my hearts desires! He has brought a lot of joy to my life ever since he SHOWED UP on the 8th of May 2015! See his dedication HERE. See photos from his 1st Birthday Party HERE. I love you Titobioluwa, Oluwademilade!

4 COMMON REASONS SOME NEW PARENTS FIGHT!

Dem nor dey tell pesin...you experience it and you're like..."why didn't anyone warn me???" When Bobo and I just became new parents we never imagined we would be fighting about the baby...never. We soon realised that a lot of couples actually fight about these things, nobody warned us. I spoke to some friends who were new parents and that was what opened my eyes to common things some new parents fight about.

So what are these fights about?

MY EXPERIENCE AT 1ST OAK PLACE HOTEL, ABUJA!

On my last trip to Abuja, I stayed at 1st Oak Place Hotel in Maitama - when I was told by the #StartUpFriday team that we would be lodging here, I googled the hotel and found almost nothing about it so I decided that a review was in place. Yes? Hopefully I get to go on more trips around the WORLD (speaking it into existence) and you'll see more reviews.

The first thing I liked a lot about the room we stayed in was the window-the lighting was on point and for bloggers you know how important that is for photos! I filmed my Ankara Head Wrap Tutorial there and you can see how lit it was!  To see the video of our trip to Abuja CLICK HERE
