KEY POINTS FROM MY TALK AT THE WOMEN WORKSHOP LAST WEEKEND

On Saturday I had the opportunity to discuss with women, explaining how I have made it this far and how they can do it too in whatever field they choose. I basically preached the Gospel of Social Media and I think some people received the anointing :D

I'll highlight the points I made:
Anointing?

START
This was the theme of the event. I believe in starting where you are and using what you have. Don't wait till you have all the ideas, all the funding or "perfect" your skills. Waiting for the perfect moment is procrastination and it will take you nowhere-start and learn as you go along! When I started blogging I didn't know what direction I wanted to go (till now I still re-direct myself), I didn't have the best camera, or the best blog, all these things fall into place as time goes on. So START!

TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOUR DISADVANTAGE
A lot of people always bemoan their fate and can never see past their situations. No one has a perfect life, be creative in how you approach your difficulties. You can always try to take advantage of your disadvantage. I remember when I moved back to Nigeria and most people told me "eeeees all over"...for a while I felt bad but as you can see now, I'm a better blogger in Nigeria. Infact, my life didn't start till I got to Nigeria, if you've been following me from the beginning you know this story na- my free Wedding and Honeymoon (HERE, HERE and HERE) my Endorsements, my Blog Awards (HERE and HERE). In this tough economy, some people are still making it, so dust yourself up!

SOCIAL MEDIA IS BAE!
Most business now need to be on social media-forget the traditional way of hustling for customers. I believe Social media, I know the power of social media. You see Olajumoke? Social media played a big role in her sudden success. Social media gives you the opportunity to recreate yourself and sell your market. Even if na hair you dey plait, put it on instagram, twitter, Facebook. You will get customers if you sabi your work. Don't waste time on social media, be intentional about whatever you do.

Weldone to Zoe Chinaka for organising such an impactful event. Some pictures from the event!
