MONDAY CHIT-CHAT: DO SOMETHING!!!

Nigerian Blogger Sisi Yemmie

Oh wow! It's Monday! How was your weekend? What did you get up to...? I don't really know how to describe mine, but as usual I'll start from Friday evening. I had to work late Friday evening, that means by the time I got on Third Mainland Bridge, there was little hope of getting home early so what did I do? Instead of grumbling, I wound up my windows, put in a Naija mix CD and blasted my ears out! I was dancing and driving, I don't know if that is safe, but I didn't care... some other drivers were looking at me like ...Oh, maybe she won the lotto. No I didn't. I would like to.

When I got home I settled down to AFMAG, they were showing one ancient movie, it was ancient because Victoria Inyamah starred and Bob Manuel, his COAT, and AMERICAN ACCENT starred too. LOL. Where is Victoria Inyamah now? I wonder what she's been up to...she used to be one of my favourites. In the movie, Vic & Bob were married and she gave birth to an oyinbo baby, so the rest of the movie was spent trying to explain "how comes"? I thought it was a beautiful script, but I'm trying to wonder what oyinbo movie they copied...maybe it was original. I finally succumbed to sleep at about 2:00 am.

I slept in on Saturday, oh, that felt good! You know you're an adult when sleep becomes a reward. Since I was in good spirits I decided to film a video for this week. I upload new videos every Thursday. If you're a blogger or thinking about blogging, you definitely need to stay tuned to my blog this week as I will be giving some... ahem... stay tuned. After filming I went to ICM, is there any weekend I don't go there? I finally registered by Airtel sim, I have to give a shout out to Toye, she was very helpful! I bought popcorn, that sweet, sugared, honeyed popcorn at the mall. Nom, nom, nom. Daaazaaaall!

Sunday I went to Church, and what did Pastor say, he reminded us that forces are always contending with us and we need to be prayerful. I gree. In Naija there are extra forces, winches and awon aiye from the village nor dey let people succeed, but God pass them, say Amen! After Church I decided to drive round Magodo, filming & interviewing strangers, it's a small project I'm working on, you shall see the results within the next two weeks... It was such a fun experience; I got to meet different people, interact and I'm so grateful they allowed me film them!

And brethren... that was most of what I did this weekend and I actually feel I achieved more! Sometimes what counts is not just this going out to partay and enjoying gbogbo aiye, what matters sometimes is the impact you're making in life and doing something worthwhile. This weekend, I think I did something worthwhile, as small as it may be. What did you get up to over the weekend? Go on...
Make me jealous!!!
