KING WOMEN: CHIGUL'S STORY HAD ME IN TEARS!

I came across a video where Chioma "Chigul" Omeruah was talking about challenges she faced in her past and how they still affect her. The video was a 3 minute trailer but it had me in tears. I never knew Chigul was married, did you? She describes how her marriage fell apart, her husbands betrayal ( he got someone else pregnant) and my heart broke

She talked about her relationship with her mother-it's had it's ups and downs and she was really hurt that she didn't get as much support as she expected.Everybody talks to women to "hold your home" together, but who's holding the woman together? The breakup of a marriage is not easy to go through alone, you don't need to experience it to know. Ordinary guy just met you yesterday and didn't call, you know how e dey pain, talkies of a marriage breaking apart.

Chigul also touched on the fact that she is very much fulfilled in her career but is longing for a loving relationship. She wants it all: love, commitment and babies! I said a prayer for her!

We usually see Chigul happy and making jokes, you would never know she went through all this if she didn't tell you which is why I think Kemi Adetiba is doing something remarkable; helping powerful Nigerian women that a lot of us look up to tell their story in a very raw way! The new series is called King Women and I cannot wait to see it, all this "is coming, is coming" is just making me tired! LOL

  5. Very touching. So many women go through alot in their relationships. The worst part is the feeling of loneliness. No one showing understanding of what you feel. God help us women to find true happiness.

  6. Too many mothers and society in general tell very unhappily married women to "endure." Sometimes, endurance ends in deep depression, which can lead to suicide. Or it can lead to death if someone is getting physically abused.

  7. Oh my, I didn't know, this is so sad cus I love chigurl. Everyone always expects we women to always be strong n keep it together, but when it becomes overwhelming, what do we do? Who do we lean on. Chigurl brought me to tears #sisiyemmieblogaddict#

  8. Wow! I had tears roll down. Nothing as bad as going through tough times and there's nobody to lean on especially the most important people in your life.

    Awh I love my Chigul.
Oh darling Sisi thanks for sharing. Please add me to your prayer oh.

Indeed who takes care of the woman. I have witnessed alot of women break down due to marriage. I am not married but the after math of marriage also affected me as a woman. Story is different but yet I was asked to take un shared responsibilities. The elder lady who reminded me am a woman asked this of me. I just told her I no di carry cross for no body. She understood. And said she handle it different. With her age and experience am sure she understood. But the younger ladies are carrying the matter as gala on their head. Throwing jibes at me.
This is one thing I was pondering the other day. We are just HELP mate. Do you know how many ailments women pick up because of burdens.
One minute men are babies another minute they want to wear the trousers, or be leader. they should pick a struggle.

  12. Oh my, this had me in tears. I never knew Chigurl went through this. This is why we should be careful how we treat people 'cause we don't know their inner struggles.
I can totally relate with her on the part of wanting to bond with your mum over your kids. It's the one thing i crave. I am 30 and not in a relationship. Only daughter and 1st child, my mum is 60 and her younger sister has 2 grandkids. I see it in her eyes when she holds her grandniece and nephew but bless her soul she never pressurizes me to marry.
"Hold your home" wth does that even mean? Is it not the same two hands I have that he does, why can't he as the head grab it and not only hold. The woman is always the go to person for blames. she is 30 and isn't married, she is too aggressive and has too much money/ambition. She is married but isnt happy or is being abused, she provokes him.

Sigh!!! God help us and continually strengthen us
