REVIEW ~ WHAT DO YOU THINK OF COLD STONE ICE CREAM?

WHERE I WENT
I went to The Palms at Lekki to meet up with my Ada Ada (Ify) aka The Kick... please don't ask the reason for the nick name. LOL. While waiting for her I noticed the Cold Stone Creamery stand, there were lots of people waiting to be served. I've heard about the rave of this place so I decided, why not? All I need to do is jog 10 times around the block to lose the calories!

Cold Stone Creamery® offers super-premium ice cream and sorbet, made fresh in every store, every day, and served up with your choice of mix-ins. Just how many different ways can you customize your ice cream treat? Over 11.5 million, to be exact!

FELLOW REVIEWER
I originally went there with my mom but she decided it was too jedi-jedish for her liking so I cornered Ify. I wish I had a picture of her. LOL. She was the perfect accomplice.

LOOKY-FEELY
Have you been to the Palms? It's what I would call a shop where you wait, get and move on. There's nowhere to sit and lick your ice cream. I actually don't mind. How many ice cream shops provide seats? Especially when located in such a busy mall.
WHAT I HAD
What I had, I cannot remember the name, like I said, I just couldn't make up my mind!  Ify had the Cookie Doughnt You Want Some which is a mixture of French Vanilla Ice Cream, Chocholate Chips, Cookie Dough, Fudge and Caramel. Yum yum yum!

HOSPITALITY
The staff was very nice and cordial to me. I am one of those people who take forever to make up my mind about what I want to do, especially when it comes to food. Never give me options! LOL. He was sweet and patiently explained all the flavors even though I read up on it ( menu).

He "constructed" my ice cream with a smile on his face. That was really good customer service. Serving Ice Cream can't get better than that?  Oh, if you visit the branch on Toyin Street they actually burst into songs sometimes. It's quite similar to my experience at Johnny Rockets.

WHAT I THINK
I honestly think it's very good Ice cream but not as great as I expected and that might be because:
1. I was expecting toooooo much!
2. I didn't choose the right flavor
3. I really don't care much about ice cream. LOL. I'm not someone with a sweet tooth.
DAMAGE DONE
We chose small sizes, the smallest size in fact, so that was about 800 Naira, if I remember correctly. I don't think that was too bad though.

LOCATION
The Palms: Food Court, The Palms Shopping Mall, Lekki . There are other locations: I know about one on Toyin street.  Tel: 070 337 652 21

    1. i concur!! and the ambience???? Great too. Ice cream factory is more intimate and cosy atmosphere that keeps u coming back. The attendants are also friendlier.

    2. Nope! The attendants are only fine boys so GIRLS keep coming back and/or dragging their guys along with them.

    1. Nah, coldstone's really good when you get the right mix-ins/what you like. I haven't had a chance to get my coldstone regular in Naija but I've heard/read it's pretty much/almost the same. Read more coldstone creamery reviews here on ReviewNaija

  3. I had a love affair with ColdStone for a while back in the day (though obviously not in Naija lol). Now I can't even remember the last time i went there. I've found a new love in all these FroYo places that have been popping up the past 2 years or so.

  6. I agree with you sisiyemmi. I had it for the first time recently and I didn't feel any tingle as I expected from the way people scream about it. It was just welll, ice cream with M&M. The M&M in it was the best part for me sef. Abeggiii. Over hype but yes! The customer service is sooo good!

    1. Lol. Who mixes M&M with ice cream? That's why you didn't like it.

  7. Perfect mix - Chocolate and Coffee or Baileys ice cream with Chopped Almonds, Coconut and Brownies.

That's the only thing I get at Coldstone.

  8. Cold Stone Ice Cream is really nice and its quite feeling..I think everyone should stick with the medium size without the waffles sef because after a while it gets tiring. I get foodgasms when i take it. But i always get in trouble when i try to experiment. The Boo thinks Founder's Favourite is the best..And their customer service is actually really good, the best part is when they sing for you if they notice the line is getting long and customers are tense. They also sing if its your birthday,,lol..

  10. I usually don't have a sweet tooth but when I want to binge and have that really full, cold, sweet stuffy feeling then I go for cold stone ice cream. I usually try out a mix of oreos, brownies, nuts and a random item in my ice cream and I choose the medium size. I didn't have an opinion of it when I first went, still don't though but I guess it is just ok.

  14. I've been dragged down by pals on a few occasions. Can't say much for the ice-cream, sadly. Can't eat ice-cream.

Still, the number of flavours on display said - but extra-long queues said even more.

The greatest impression, however, was the masterful way one of the attendants went about her work. I mean, she actually juggled ice-cream balls in the air as she worked them together. Amazing sight.
