MAGGI FORTIFIED TO ADDRESS DIETARY DEFICIENCY IN NIGERIA – NESTLE CEO

... Sources about 10,000 tons of soybeans locally

Nestlé, the leading Nutrition, Health and Wellness Company has reaffirmed its commitment to help reduce undernutrition in Nigeria through micronutrient fortification. Speaking with journalists during a tour of Agbara factory recently, the Managing Director and Chief Executive of Nestlé Nigeria, Chief Dharnesh Gordhon said in 2012, Nestlé introduced a new range of fortified bouillon cubes by adding iron to the already iodine- fortified Maggi brand seasonings. He said in 2014, Nestlé reached 18.3 million households in Nigeria with iron-fortified Maggi cubes

Chief Gordhon said that Nestlé has a huge stake in rural communities in Nigeria, sourcing agricultural raw materials from many farmers in the country. He said in 2014 alone, the company purchased 9,660 tonnes of soybean from local farmers in Nigeria. Soybean is a key element in the ingredient mix in Maggi production to provide a distinctive fermented flavor

LIFE IN LAGOS : SISI WEEKLY #13!

Today's vlog is early-I would like to applaud myself. The only reason this has happened is because I think I'm getting back to factory settings-for the past 3 days I've been sleeping at night. My body has been operating American time for the past 2 months-I'm awake during the night and sleep during the day-we all know this is not a productive way to live. Imagine waking up 5pm everyday when the day is already gone!

I'm glad I'm back!

5 MINUTE UPDO CHALLENGE WITH LAYEFA - NATURAL HAIR STYLES

Hello beautiful naturalista's! How body? Today I'm collaborating with Layefa all the way from Nigeria to London. Layefa has beautiful hair #Goals and we decided to come together to do a five minute undo challenge. If Bobo was around he will be laughing because he knows typically 5 minutes is the time I spend combing my hair alone. LOL.

My hair is medium length but I say it's short considering how long I want it to be. Layefa's is longer  . Again, #Goals. I decided I was going to use kinky extensions for my updo and it turned out okay. If I had more time it would have been nicer I think.

Ps. Layefa has a beautiful voice, if you watch her videos she's the one singing....fine babe. long, full hair, sweet voice-only 1 person! Once more #GOALS!

HOW TO COOK OGBONO SOUP

Ogbono Soup
Seriously, this is one of the easiest Nigerian soups and it is extra deliccous ! My mom always says her reason for not eating ogbono os that she can never stop-she must always go for more, and more. I agree. When I make Ogbono, I eat it all day till it finishes and the kind of bowls of eba I will finish will put the fear of God in you-it's worse when I use Amala.

Like I said, the recipe is simple without all the senrenren of stock fish (I don't like it) and dry fish (I didn't have any)  Ogiri (I don't like that too lol)...HOWEVER, with even Chicken alone, this soup is finger-licking delicious, it's unbelievable! One tip I'll give you: Crayfish is magical in ogbono-be very generous with it.

I hope you enjoy and don't forget to SUBSCRIBE!

#THROWBACKTHURSDAY! : THIS SH*T MATTER!

Is this my first ever ThrowbackThursday post on the blog? I think it is! I want to throwback to sometime in 2011 when I shared this hilarious story about  diarrhoea. Some of you only joined my blog recently and are only familiar with the ajebutter Sisi Yemmie, let me introduce you to the razz one: Enjoy!

I went to 9ja over the weekend for my lovely friend's wedding...it was beautiful I tell you, but that is not today's gist! Immediately I landed,  I fished out the list of meals I wanted to have (as usual). Mind you, wetin happen to me in my last post HERE was all about food during my April trip. This is  fresh gist from a fresh trip. It is apparent that I have longer throat!

I was just branching all the boli selllers, roasted corn, sharwarmar (tasted dodgy but it is still shawarma). I had Kuli Kuli and I topped it up with dankwa. That was Day 1. Day 2, I chop suya, goat meat peppersoup, 2 big nylon bags of boiled groundnut, gala, fan yogo and had some more kuli kuli and bottled fanta  to wash it down. These were just appetizers oh.

AFRICANFAMILYNUTRITION.COM IS MY LATEST DISCOVERY!

I enjoy bringing you guys things that add value and this website is one of them. I will remind you that good nutrition is the bedrock of human wellbeing and tackling global nutrition problems is essential for achieving the United Nations’ Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

However addressing malnutrition is not an easy task and everyone needs to come together to achieve the overall goal. One way this can be addressed is by sharing accurate, timely information on online platforms to educate people across the continent.

This is where Horlicks comes in. Horlicks in collaboration with the Federation of Africa Nutrition Societies (FANUS), last year, launched a website designed to provide nutrition and health information to Nigerians and Africans at large. This website www.africanfamilynutrition.com provides comprehensive information on various aspects of wellness and lifestyle.
