ONE VALUABLE THING I LEARNED WHEN I GOOGLED MYSELF - SISI YEMMIE

I don't make it a habit to google myself but lately I decided, oya search Sisi Yemmie, what comes up? soooo many things! Chai, I have so many photos on the internet, but because I blog and am very vain and take so many photos of my face to show the world, that's understandable. I am forgiven. At least it's photos of my face...not nudes. Thank Jesus my political career and ambitions remain untainted.

Anyways, so I was googling myself and found photos that I never knew I took, paparazzi things. Some hideous and some I liked. I quickly downloaded the ones I like and didn't have and I wish those hideous ones would go away...far far away! Please don't google me... Just come straight to my blog, I don't know what you're looking for that I won't tell you here directly. LOL

WHY MARRIAGES ARE NO LONGER WORKING IN NIGERIA...

I was reading an excerpt from Seun Kuti’s interview with Encomium magazine and I found his opinion on why some marriages in Nigeria seem to fold up too quickly in recent times, he said because women are no longer submissive, I don’t agree with him. I’m not an expert on marriages oh, I’m a learner on the matter sef, I’ve been barely married 6 months but I think I’m a good observer. In response to this Nigerian woman and submission issue, here's my 1 naira:

I won’t say I’m not aware that some marriages are failing these days, but I would not generalize. Just a few don’t make it and that’s sad, but is the reason because women are no longer submissive? Nope. Just because marriage is not 100% dependent on the woman making it work work work, wetin! Marriage is 100% dependent on the couple…each person should bring a 100%. Not even 50-50! Bring your best!

LIVING IN LAGOS IS...DRAINING!

We all have those days and I have them at least once a month. Living in Lagos is not moin-moin…unless you’re gbogbo bigz girls and bigz boys. For the normal person, Lagos is tough. Lagos is tough. Lagos is tough! How many times did I tell you? I cried a little before I went to bed last night because I was so so so tired of the hustle and bustle.  I'm very sure the sun shinning in Lagos is not the one shinning in other parts of Nigeria. Kilode!

Okay, I start my morning, very early by 5:30 but I snooze till 6: 00am. Some of my friends with kids are awake by 4:00 am…nitori Olorun…4:00am! Na which time dem kon sleep? Anyways, to even get up from the bed 6:00 is so much struggle and then when I open my eyes, the sound of generator just gives me headache! It is rare that there’s power all night…at least you’ll have to wake up at night to switch to generator at some point (that’s 1 hour of sleep lost).

NIGERIAN SHOPPERS ENJOY UP TO 70 % DISCOUNT ON PURCHASE

The largest online mall in Nigeria, Konga.com recorded a massive flood of eager shoppers on its site during the Konga ‘Yakata’ sales period as many Nigerians made savings, with up to 70% discount on items purchased.

The Yakata sales which started on Thursday a day prior to the global Black Friday and ended midnight on Black Friday, gave shoppers two days of fantastic offers.

The CEO and founder of Konga.com Mr. Sim Shagaya expressed his deep gratitude to all customers that took part in the Yakata Sales saying, “Because of our customers, Konga and many small and medium size retailers that sell on our platform witnessed sales volumes that were simply staggering. We, as a people, have made a great leap forward towards the development of ecommerce in Nigeria and larger Africa”.

Mr. Sagaya disclosed that at its peak, Konga was processing N50 million worth of orders every hour and that Konga sold 500% more items in the two days of Yakata than it did in all of 2012.
